The Col Lewis L Millett and Training Ship Ford Military Honor Detail is recognized by the Riverside National Cemetery. Our cadets perform military honors for fallen veterans and their families, which includes a live rifle salute. These Sea Cadet and Navy League units are the only ones in the United States authorized to perform these services. Our cadets go through rigorous training to qualify for this honor. Cadets know that when they perform, they represent not only their units but also the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps, the Navy League Cadet Corps, the United States of America, and the Armed Forces. Cadets typically earn at least five hours of community service each time they serve on the Memorial Honor Detail.

Since 1958, the Naval Sea Cadet Corps has been a federally chartered and Navy-sponsored youth leadership program for young people ages 10-17 who train with the US Navy, US Coast Guard, and other military organizations.
